Annabel Lee

by Jess
(Illinois)

We adopted Annabel from the shelter a couple years ago. She's big and beautiful, and downright sassy if she doesn't get her way. She's incredibly social and talkative, and will walk up to anyone and want to be petted.

She's also the best mouser I've ever seen, which is great since we live out in the country. When she's prowling about outside, she looks like a little lioness. And hunts like one, too.

Pick a Tabby.
by: Goodnight Grace

I'm also so glad that we chose a tabby cat. There were lots at the shelter and we were told it was because tabby cats usually did not get picked out, we thought that a shame.

Without hesitation we picked a lovely tabby boy with wonderful distinct stripes. As soon as we got home he had and inspection of the whole house, insisting on looking everywhere. He then walked up to us and rubbed up against our legs as if he was telling us that he approved. We sure do approve of him, he is the most wonderful addition to our lives, our stripped family member.

like our Jethro
by: Anonymous

I have to comment that your wonderful sassy Annabel looks so much like our very much missed Jethro. Of course he was a he but apart from that there is such a similarity. And you know what? Jethro was a shelter rescue cat to.

Some people may think that all tabby cats look the same, but they don' do they. Annabel looks all warm and loving.

Beautiful tabby cat.
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Jess,

Annabel Lee is a beauty. I can't imagine her being sassy, she looks very sweet, but then again when cats don't get their way, watch out :)

So she is sociable and invites anyone to pet her, I'd bet that she does not get many refusals.

A very nice photograph of a beautiful tabby cat. Thank you very much for sharing it with us Jess.

Left Behind

I'm so a princess!!!

How can you not love this face!!!

I live with 4 cats. I have two tabby's. Lucky was found stranded across the street from my office. He wandered to my office and I immediately fell in love with him and he was not being well taken of.

I brought him home and he is a joy. He has many quirky behaviors, he is a biter and he licks himself silly when he is patted on his behind just in front of his tail. He is orange and white and so very fat.

I found my other tabby, Macie down the street from my house. She was dumped off by someone on a cold and rainy day. She was scared and very shy. It took several months for her to come out of the spare bedroom and begin to socialize. She is s runt and runs very fast. Her nickname is Speedy Gonzales. She is a joy to have around.

I can't imagine my life without them. Tabby's are so beautiful and I can't imagine why people would dislike them.

Amazing story! ;)
by: Harmony

It is very nice of you to take in abandoned cats! I have no idea why owners just throw them in the streets. If they do that, why did they buy a cat in the first place?
Tabby's are wonderful cats, in my opinion, the best breed of all! They are a joy to have around!

Love for our best friends
by: Michelle

I don't know how people can just discard their animals. But I know the love I have for my babies will always help those that are left behind have a wonderful, happy, safe, and enjoyable life in my home. My pets are not just pets they are my children and I would die to protect my babies. I know they are happy here.

Thanks,

Chelle

Magnificent tabbies.
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Michelle,

How can people do that. How can they just dump off their cats? I know times are tough, but please . . .

Thank goodness for people like you. You have yourself two magnificent tabbies as reward for your kindness.

Macie is indeed as pretty as a princess and your big boy Lucky is a handsome chap. I also don't know why some folks don't like tabby cats, as you say they can have beautiful markings, but each to their own tastes.

Many thanks for telling us about your tabby twosome Michelle, and sharing their photos with us.
