Emma & Tai

Emma & Tai

After my beloved Pumpkin passed away his ailing sister, Kelly, was lonely - you can tell these things if you've lived with cats all your life.

The next day I went to the shelter and immediately fell in live with two black feline beauties - Emma and Tai, sister/brother. They were about 14 months of age. They came home with.

They were immediately and fully accepted by Kelly and vice versa. They were a source of comfort to her till she passed away about 4 weeks later.

So these two black twins are the sweetest, most kindness and gentle cats I have ever known. They will not scratch and seem very aware of slicing nature of their claws and take great care to make sure the blades are away when they are handled. Even when I have to handle them for things they don't really care for, like getting sprinkled with flea powder. They are quite remarkable in this sense.

It's really an honor to share my life with them. And to ensure they have a long and healthy life, they have easily adopted a raw food diet - chicken wings, thighs, livers, gizzards, hearts, etc. And the bones are OK (raw only!) - really amazing what their little mouths can do to a chicken bone - like totally destroy it. And this also cleans their teeth and keeps the gums healthy.

Yup, this was a win-win situation for Emma/Tai and me.

love and affection

Hi Rake,

Cats are all different of course. But I think you will find most cats are very capable of displaying love and affection. They do require you to love them of course. :)

Thanks

People loves cat more than dogs I think. But they don’t love us back like we do and that’s what makes me love dogs the more, as they are more affectionate and cares for us too unlike the selfish cats.

Sassy.
by: Red Anna

Oh I've always wanted a black cat and you have two very sweet ones. They, black cats I mean, always look so sassy to me.

I hope that you are not missing your other cats too much, it always hurts I know, but I know you must be loving that sassy pair.

sweet brother and sister
by: Meggy W.

Sweet black kitties you must love them very much.

As for the claws, I find this is the thing with taking an adult cat from a shelter. The cats have most times lived with a family and know to be appropriate with their claws. They know too what a scratch post is for and of course the litter tray.

I am sure your brother and sister will have a long healthy life and supply you with much affection and friendship.

Magnificent looking pair of black cats.
by: Larry (editor)

Hi Gintaras,

What a magnificent looking pair of siblings.

An honor to share our lives with cats? Yes I agree, it is a privilege, cats give us so much.

Sounds like you have made a great choice from the shelter, or did that beautiful pair of black cats choose you :0)

Thank you very much indeed for telling us about Emma & Tai.
