Cass is lucky.

I'm very lucky to have Cass, my black cat. She has stopped me from going off the rails several times.

I have always thought black cats to be lucky, never unlucky, and my Cass is very lucky for me. I suffer from depression, the doctors don't want to call it that they say that it is not real depression, they say that I just get low. It is very real to me.

Anyway, when I get low Cass always comes to me. She knows something is wrong and gets right up close to me so I have to pick her up. She purrs away and I know that at least she cares about me and before long I don't feel quite so low, and if that is not lucky I don't know what is.

Cass is around fourteen years old now but to look at her you would not know that.
