Mar 10, Cat Survives For Four Weeks Eating Frozen Peas.

A stray cat has survived being trapped for four weeks in a chilled food warehouse at temperatures of -2C by eating frozen peas.

The year old cat was named Frosty by the RSPCA staff who rescued him. Poor Frosty got frostbite during his time in the freezing warehouse and had to have both ears and his tail amputated.

The cat is believed to have been trapped in the warehouse after entering in the back of a truck. He was spotted by staff in the warehouse early last month but escaped numerous attempts to capture him. So why didn't the warehouse staff call in the RSPCA earlier?

You can read the full story at the link below.

You have to find some way of distracting the brawling pair, this is sometimes no easy task. Clapping your hands loudly, dropping something such as a heavy book, blowing a whistle or blasting an air horn, or a loud shout may work. If it is handy, squirting the brawling cats with the water bottle may get them apart, aim to get both cats. When you have got your fighting cats apart, you will want to . . .

Feb 25, Reasons a Cat Will Not Eat.

A possible reason that your cat will not eat could be because the food is too cold.

Cats are, by nature, hunters. In their wild state cats eat their prey when they kill it, while the prey is still warm. Cold cat food therefore may be unappetizing.

Try warming your cat's food slightly.

Have you ever noticed your cat will groom herself when she is embarrassed? Perhaps she tried to leap up onto a shelf and did not quite make it. She will turn her attention to a spot on he body that just has to be groomed right there and then. It's as if she is deflecting attention away from the failed leap and on to the grooming.

The grooming is also comforting, it makes her feel more secure. A cat that does not feel secure for some reason may keep on and on licking herself. This over-grooming is likely to result in hair loss and bald spots.

A female cat that found her way into a Fife, Scotland, rescue center with a can stuck on her head has left staff wondering how she managed to reach them without being hit by a car.

The cat walked in with her head wedged in an empty pet food can, must have been quite a sight.

After the can was carefully removed she was checked over and the cat was fine but pleased to be freed. She has now been taken to the Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Re-homing Center in Balerno, Edinburgh.

I can't help thinking that somebody did not want to pay a vet to remove the can and dropped the poor cat off at the rescue center.

Tabby cats are often mistakenly thought of as being a particular breed of cat, but it is the coat pattern that is known as "tabby", and this pattern can occur in all breeds of domestic cat.

All breeds of domestic cat carry the tabby gene. Our feline friends that we know and love as house cats, originated from the African wild cat. These wildcats had similar markings to those we see on tabby cats, an effective form of camouflage.

There are many variations of the tabby pattern and tabby cats can be found with stripes, spots, ticks and swirls, and in various colors . . .

There it is right on show, your cat's litter box. It is where it is because . . . that's where it has to be for one reason or another. Maybe your bathroom is too small to accommodate it, maybe there just is no other place.

Your cat is happy with the litter box being there and uses it and that is the most important thing.

You do wish though, that it wasn't so darn obvious.

Ever thought of cat litter box furniture?
