Champ - The gentleman cat
I lost my dog to old age and I was devastated. He was very cat like in his attitude which seemed to be a learning process for me in understanding cats.
I've always wondered about cats, their independence, their quiet ways, hunting instincts. When I walked into the local shelter to check out the cats, the first cat that caught my eye was a large gray tom. He and I looked at one another like we knew each other before.
I met Champ in one of the visitor's rooms and right off, he purred when I touched him, his paws did the kneading thing. I don't know who chose who first but I like to think if was mutual.
I am continually learning about him, learning more and more about the cat-way-of-life. He's my companion and follows me where ever I go. He talks to me all the time and he loves to play.
