A cat that is warm.
by: Jobaputra

Your Emily is another lovely black cat. I can tell she is all purry and warm, I am thinking that she loves her home.

I have said before that I just do not understand people who do not like black cats. Any cat gives you lots of love.

Dummy!

by Cammie
(California)

When I was young I had a back cat and her name was Dummy. It wasn't being mean- sort of... That was the only name she would respond to and she was fairly dumb.

She would do the craziest things! one time my mom was making steak and had the broiler open. She put one steak in then went to get the other and Dummy jumped in the broiler and jumped out with the steak in her mouth and her tail on fire! I loved that cat!

Ya, Dummy wasn't hurt from the fire and she did get the steak... I'm glad your Sasha is safer than Dummy was!

Hi Cammie,

Hey, your cat was not so dumb, she got the steak didn't she!

hope that she did not come to too much harm from her broiler accident.

Oh noes!
by: Mary and Sasha

Oh my goodness. My kitty Sasha says she hopes that your kitty didn't get any more than some singed tail fur. Sasha likes to floss her teeth on my long-spined cactus and got poked in the lip once, but she doesn't go near the oven.

MY BLACK CAT "TINKERBELL"

by Diane Young
(FLORA, IL)

"TINK"

I'VE HAD TINKERBELL FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS. SHE IS MY LITTLE BUDDY. SHE ALWAYS WANT'S MY ATTENTION, SHE'S ALWAYS FOLLOWS ME AROUND THE HOUSE..

SHE GOT OUTSIDE ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. I WAS TOTALLY DEVASTATED WHEN I COULDN'T FIND HER. THEN ONE NIGHT(ABOUT 2 WEEKS AFTER SHE WAS MISSING) I HAD JUST GOT HOME FROM WORK, AND SAW SOME EYES LOOKING @ ME UNDERNEATH A CAR THAT WAS PARKED UNDER MY CARPORT. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND LOOKED, THE CAT ACTED SCARED AND RAN OFF. I WASN'T SURE, BUT I WAS HOPING IT WAS HER. THEN ABOUT 20 MIN AFTER, I HAD TO LEAVE TO TAKE MY HUSBAND TO WORK, AND SAW A PAIR OF EYES UNDER THE CAR AGAIN. THIS TIME I HAD A FLASH LIGHT, AND SURE ENOUGH, IT WAS HER!! SHE WAS SCARED, AND UNCERTAIN ABOUT COMING TO ME, MY SON CAME OUTSIDE, AND WITH HIS HELP, WE WAS ABLE TO GET HER AND BRING HER INSIDE.. SHE HAD LOST SOME WEIGHT FROM NOT EATING, AND WAS UPSET FROM HER 2 WEEKS OUTSIDE.

SHE HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN INDOOR CAT, SO THIS WAS TRAUMATIZING FOR HER.. I'M HAPPY TO SAY SHE IS BACK TO HER HAPPY SELF, AND I WENT OUT AND GOT HER A PET ID TAG THE DAY AFTER I HAD FOUND HER..

I have a black cat too, she looks so much like yours but a little bigger. All cats like to escape from their home , maybe you should concider getting her a garden or a playground outside, she will be a lot happier .

Habit of escaping.
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Diane,

Tinkerbell is a smasher, a real little beauty. Thank you very much for sharing her story and photo with us.

I'll bet that you were so pleased when Tinkerbell came back home. An ID tag is a good idea for all cats, even indoor cats, because - as you found out - they do have a habit of escaping.

Glad that everything turned out alright.

My Boys Binxx and Binxx

by Connie
(Providence, RI)

my boys

my boys

I have owned a total of 4 black cats. The 2 in this photo is of Zachary Binxx and Zane Binxx.

All my cats are named Binxx with a different "Z" first name. The one to the left is Zachary and is about 15 years old and is as loyal as a dog. He cannot be anywhere without me. The one to the right is Zane also nicknamed "the baby" he is about 6 or 7 years old, not as loyal but has to sleep with me every night.

They are both very large, Zachary is 20 lbs and Zane is about 14 lbs. They are lovable lap cats that are so spoiled, my mother often says when she dies she wants to reincarnated as one of my cats!

Anyway, my funny story is about Zachary, when my mother and I moved to the city she gave them Poland springs water because she thought the tap water had a strong chlorine smell to it. So I thought "go ahead and give them your water, I don't care" one day she ran out of the Poland springs and I caught her red-handed pouring my Fiji water into their bowls. Well Zachary tasted that water and would drink 1/2 the bowl in one sitting, and since then refuses any other water.

Mom thought it was ridiculous that he just liked the water and made me take him to the vet to make sure he didn't have kitty diabetes, well 267.00 later to find out he really does just likes the water. So they get Fiji water....

Two magnificent black cats
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Connie,

Wow Mr Z. Binxx and Mr Z. Binxx are two magnificent black cats, they both have that air of mystery about them. I'm not a bit surprised to read that they are spoiled :0)

I love your story about the bottled water, you can trust a cat to be particular.

Thank you very much indeed for sharing about your boys.
