A Little About Poppy
This is a photo of my mom's kitten, Ice Poppy. This beautiful pic was taken by the breeder we got her from (thanks Charmaine!), so Poppy must have been about 8 weeks old here. She is a very gentle little kitten with a very unique personality.
When we first got her, she wouldn't eat a thing. We eventually figured out that she wanted us to serve her little pellet-sized balls of raw mince with a topping of kitten gravy food served on a paper plate (nope, she wouldn't eat out of her own bowl).
Every day she does something new to amuse us. This morning she stood on her hind legs begging for food just like a puppy would.
When we have to do something she doesn't like, such as cleaning her eyes (which has to be done once a day for Persians), she plays dead - she literally falls down and there is no further movement for the next half hour. She must think that we'll forget all about the idea if we think we have a dead kitty on our hands!
She sleeps on my bed, my mom's, or in her own "Hello Kitty" bed, whichever suits her at the time. She doesn't like being alone at all and will follow us through the house wherever we go. She had "kitty insomnia" for a few days, so she was quite a cranky little girl. Every time we left the room, she woke up and came to look for us. No wonder she couldn't sleep...
