I rescued Jake from an animal shelter near Detroit, Michigan. He was just a little baby, found with so many other kittens that they decided to name them all after countries.

His shelter name was Thailand. He is 2-1/2 years old now (born around the 4th of July), and he still has all the spunk of a kitten. He is extremely tender and anyone that spends time with him becomes his next big fan.

He loves to bend his head down and let me kiss the top of his head for even minutes at a time, loves to follow me around the house, and especially loves sleeping on top of me. He has the biggest heart I've ever found in any creature, and I'm blessed he's my little guy. :)

Hello,

Your Jake looks just like my amazing tabby. Same eye colour, and fur colour and everything. I love their eye colour in the sun, it looks amazing. Except my kitten is 6 months. Tiger ( My kittens name ) does the same thing to me, and is very sweet and loving!

I think that you made a good choice for your very handsome cat. Jake is a good name. I once had a wonderful Tabby cat named Ozzy, he was so laid back you could do anything with him. I love tabbies.

Now I have Taz (looks like a gray squirrel, with a big fuzzy tail) and Tig, (he is a gorgeous charcoal gray) 7 months old they are brother and sister, rescued.

Tom and orange Tabby, which is 4, and Coco which is 4, she is a long haired tortiouse color. They are all wonderful cats.

A tabby by any other name . . .

Hi Jessica,

Jake certainly is a good looking tabby, and it's easy to see that he has a lot of heart, it sort of shows through.

Good for you for going to a shelter, Jake is proof that you can get the best of cats from shelters.

Thailand? Well, Shakespeare did say that " A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." But I somehow think that your choice of Jake suits him better. And I doubt that you'd want to stand in your backyard calling "Thailand, Thailand" for him to come in for the night. :0)
