Lucky the Black Cat

I found Lucky living underneath our house last winter. We felt so bad for her that we brought her in the house.

I don't understand why people think that black cats are bad luck. I'm very lucky to have Lucky! She is the Sweetest most gentle cat ever.

She is also VERY smart. She knows just about every thing that I say. I've also gotten to the point that I can tell what she wants by the different way she meows. She has a meow for when she wants outside, she has a meow for when she wants a treat and she has a meow for when she wants to play. She is also very talkative. She meows a lot We also give her a superhero persona by calling her, "Invisible Cat" because you can't see her in the dark. She is also very protective of me. She always sleeps outside my bedroom door. As if she is guarding me from something.

When we took her to the vet, we found out that she had been spayed and declawed in her front paws. We tried to find her owner but we couldn't find any owner. We live in kind of a rural area (not many houses around close) so our theory is that she was dumped out there. I'm always talking about her at work. My co-workers often ask me how she is doing. She's like my daughter, now. She always greets me when I come home from work and wants to be petted. I'm very lucky to have Lucky!

Cats can tell us a lot.
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi David,

Thank you very much indeed for telling us about Lucky.

I too don't understand why some people think black cats to be unlucky, but then we all have superstitions of one kind or another.

Yes, cats can tell us a lot with their different meows and with their body language.

"Invisible Cat" :0) I like that.

Anyone who shares their life with a cat is indeed lucky,I'm glad that your black cat is lucky for you.
