Matilda kitty graced us with her presence...

14 years ago, we were sitting in our living room and we could hear a cat making an unreal racket at our back door.

When we looked, what we saw was a 6 week old stray kitten crying with hunger...

We put out a full can of tuna, which satisfied the little critter and she took up residence in our tool shed.

She was very shy and skittish and it took us weeks to get her to approach us but inching her food dish a foot at a time closer to the door, we managed to lure her inside.

For a couple of days, we left the door open so she could come and go but finally we simply closed the door and she appeared content to stay inside...

She is so used to being inside that even if the door is wide open, she WILL NOT venture out, perhaps because she remembers the discomfort and fright she had being alone and unprotected...

She is truly a member of the family...

Who would think . . .
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Dennis,

Well who would think that Matilda had ever been a stray, not me.

Just goes to show, you open up your shed and find . . . a lady :0)

Wonderful story, thank you for sharing.

Enjoying a snooze.

Enjoying a snooze.

When I moved into my new apartment, I knew I was getting a cat.

There was no stopping me.

Weeks before I had even gotten my new friend, I bought everything it would need and more. I was ready to spoil the crap out of 'em.

I decided I would do something helpful, and I went to an Animal Shelter.

I had no idea what type I was looking for. I was hoping for a youngin', just so I could create that bond, and when I walked into the room, I spotted him.

He wasn't small by any means. He was definitely large for his age. About 10 months, still had a baby face, and very very social.

The cats hadn't been caged. They roamed freely around the room, but this little guy seemed to take control.

He was hyper, and very affectionate, and once I started playing with him, I barely noticed the other kitties.

I definitely claimed him as soon as I realized what a sweetheart he was.

He has some sass, and a strong personality. The lady came in, and I immediately named him Oliver.
Now he remains here, at home.

Happy, healthy, and beaming with personality.

Hate to say it, but looks more like Rip Van Winkle. All kidding aside, he is a beautiful cat and I'm sure that not only have you provided him with a good home, he is providing you with memoriable moments in time.

The perfect match

Thats my kitty!!

Thats my kitty!!

It was about 3 years ago. I went to pet refuge to go get her. I seen her the day before at petsmart and i knew i had to have her. She was a rambunctious cat. The minute i saw her i knew we were meant to be.

That day i was wearing a summer dress.I remember her playing with a toy and then she jumped up my dress! She was quite the little trouble maker, but i didn't care. We took her home and she loved there ever since. She loves so much and i love her back.

To this day she is three years old and she has frown up so fast but i love her more and more each day.

They do grow ever so fast . . .
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Kaitlin,

Your kitty is gorgeous. All cats are "little trouble makers" sometimes, that's what makes them cats ;0)

Yes they do grow ever so fast don't they, and it is so easy to give them your love.

Thank you very much indeed for your submission.
