Matilda kitty graced us with her presence...

14 years ago, we were sitting in our living room and we could hear a cat making an unreal racket at our back door.
When we looked, what we saw was a 6 week old stray kitten crying with hunger...
We put out a full can of tuna, which satisfied the little critter and she took up residence in our tool shed.
She was very shy and skittish and it took us weeks to get her to approach us but inching her food dish a foot at a time closer to the door, we managed to lure her inside.
For a couple of days, we left the door open so she could come and go but finally we simply closed the door and she appeared content to stay inside...
She is so used to being inside that even if the door is wide open, she WILL NOT venture out, perhaps because she remembers the discomfort and fright she had being alone and unprotected...
She is truly a member of the family...
