Memorializing A Cat

Mr. Domino
Domino was my favorite cat, and I think will always be. I don't have a picture of her to show you, but I'll describe her as a beatuiful long-haired Tuxedo cat, who was colored to perfection.
I think the demise of one's first pet, especially if she or he's a favorite cat can be a traumatic event not only for children, but for adults too.
Here I memorialized Domino by making Mr. Domino. It's a porcelain doll face poured in white blue instead of flesh. The face was painted according to how the faces were done in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Cat's. Actually Domino much remembled the Magician Cat in the movie version of Cats.
Using fishing wire for whiskers, glaze for coloring, and china paint for nose and mouth, a tuxedo dog collar cut down, a top hat,and teddy bear body, I made my own Mr. Domino in her memory,(DEFINITELY TUXEDO) so that I am reminded everyday when when I see my artwork, there really was a very special cat named Domino. who crawled into my heart and stayed there permanently.
To all who have recently, or even long ago lost a pet, my condolences. But always remember, there's another kitty in an animal shelter that is very needy of your love.
