My Cat chose me,.......Kinda
by R. Wright
It started when my boyfriend's daughter brought home a puppy actually. Haha, just stay with me. I love animals. All of them, to a point. Some I favor more than others, (read Cats), but I value the life of all creatures. Cats just seem to "call" to me.
Anyway, So she brings home this puppy, who immediately began to chew his way thru everything, even my best pair of Steve Maddens. Which was when we decided, after only a month, the puppy had to have another home to live in. We found the puppy a good home and went on our merry way. It wasn't even a month, I'd say, later that her boyfriend, at the time, gave her a new pet. The tiniest little jet black kitten I had ever seen. He would fit in the palm of my hand. I was in love instantly. I reminded myself that this was her pet, not mine. Didn't matter.I was in love and that was that.
As the Cat got older, still without a name I might add, he began to stay very close to me. He would practically "heel" at my feet when I was walking, sleep on my chest if I was watching tv, etc..
I guess he has decided he likes me and I am his.
If my boyfriend lies to close to me or touches me when the Cat is around, Kitty feels the need to lie on my NECK facing my boyfriend, as if to say , "Mine". LOL I find this hysterical.
Sometimes my Cat will sit and stare straight into my eyes for 1-2 minutes, then run straight up my body, when I am lying down of course, and lick my face. I am not sure what this means in Kitty language, but I get the feeling that he is happy with his choice of"pet" and that he likes me.
That's pretty much it. I have belonged to Kitty now for a little over 2 years.

P.S. Did I mention he also lets me put him in a tub of water and bathe him? Something I didn't start doing until he was about a year old.
Yep I think he's happy . I am too
