My cat would kill me if I made her stay inside!

My 10 year old cream tabby (part LaPerm) loves being outdoors - she is my little huntress. But I am more comfortable when she's outside during the day and inside at night. Raccoons, rats, even other cats, all present danger to my cat in this neighborhood.

It is also important to have them ID'd and make sure their shots and worm medicines, flea medicines, etc. are up to date.

I've known people who have indoor cats. One was in an apartment house, and seemed fine. She sat on the large windowsill and watched the world go by. The other two cats stayed in a smaller duplex. They were both bored and kind of nutty. They were not particularly loving even to their owner, and she spent all her free time playing with them. They liked to play but they always just seemed basically ill at ease.

Little huntress.

Hi Sam,

Thank you very much for sharing your story of your little huntress.

You make a very important point about outside cats carrying ID, it's critical. Actually it is critical for cats that stay inside too, you never know when they are going to slip out.
