My Cats Half Good, Half Bad

by Allessandre B. Ponzini

Our cat Zorro had just recently died of cancer and we wanted another one. My grandfather took me to our local animal shelter Foothills Humane Society.

I wanted a kitten, but when we went into the cat room my eyes immediately fell on a black and white cat that looked about one year old. She jumped down off the window sill and began to weave in between my legs I wanted her right away so my grandfather told the people at the front desk and only a few days later we where taking Paige home, that was the good part.

The bad part is the fact that the moment Paige saw our other cat Chloe, a rivalry was born they hated each other then and still do now, so, Paige chose me but she definitely didn't choose Chloe.

bad kitty
by: Anonymous

I have a cat at home and she is very naughty. Every time we introduce her to a family member or friend she nips them. She was especialy bad when we introduced her to my other cat Gramps. Gramps is four years old now, and they have hated each other from the start. So I understand your pain. Good lusck with your cats in the future! I know mine are always getting into trobble.

Not getting on
by: Anonymous

Hi There, I see this is a year and a half old. I am wondering as to whether your cats now do get on together? I hope so.

I have two cats who are just not getting along. They were introduced gradually, a week of just half hour a day together. it is a shame because they are both good cats.

Introducing a new cat . . .
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Allessandre,

Thank you very much for sharing your story with us about your new cat Paige.

Introducing a new cat to a home that already has a cat is not an easy job. But the good news is that cats can share a home with very few problems.

The trick is to make the introduction slowly, it will take a bit of time and patience, but you can do it.

This article is about introducing a kitten to an older cat, but you may find it useful as the information is basically the same when you are introducing a new cat to the house.

Introducing a New Kitten to Your Older Cat.

Good luck, I'm sure that you will soon have two cats that get on together just fine.
