My kitten who would disappear...

We got "Runjhun" from an aunt's place.(In India, all women friends of our moms' are called aunties :)) SO one fine day when mom & I were visiting one such aunt,I came across a litter of kittens her cat had delivered some time back.
I begged my mum if I could keep one & she agreed! Cats ( & kittens)have an uncanny knack of remembering roads & routes & can return to places they want to be. So we wrapped her loosely in some fabric & brought her home.
Runjhun grew up to be a wonderful pet.He would snuggle up with Grandpa in his quilt. He loved the blankets & would roll in them, often getting trapped in them, when they were folded & put away after a nap!
On the 1st such occasion, my brother & I were really worried & searched for her far & wide, before finally finding her at night when our beds were being laid out :)
We had endless playing sessions with runjhun, she was a lazybum who wouldn't want to move at all.
Then one day, she went away.. maybe she was surveying the neighbourhood & someone's dog got her, maybe someone kept her, who knows... We missed her terribly & still talk of her fondly. She was one of our best childhood memories.
