This is Herbie. Herbie is the cat that will not be photographed. Bring out the camera and the darn cat is off. He knows what a camera is no matter the model, he even knows if you try a cell phone camera! He has been that way even since he came to us at about one year old.

This photo is the best I've ever got and that was by tippy toeing at him from behind with the camera at the ready. As you might guess as soon as he heard the whir of the shutter he was off and away.

It's a shame really because Herbie is not a bad looking cat and it would be dandy to have a good pic of him for the family album. Maybe one day he will get over his camera shyness, if I could only take a picture of him I would be sending in lots of funny cat pictures because he can be so amusing at times.

Sit him in front of a mirror, then if he turns away you still get a photo of the front of him.

Yes, mayber Herbie is holding out for a contract. I think it is funny though. One of my cats, Patches, sometimes runs away when he sees the camera, especially if he is near or with one of the other two. Sometimes he doesn't mind if he is by himself.

Don't give up though and maybe one of these day you can submit a photo of Herbie and who knows, maybe he'll smile.

Hi Cal,

Perhaps Herbie is like one of those ancient tribes that believe that the camera steals the soul :0) Or maybe he is holding out until you offer a modeling fee?

Anyway, even from his back view it can be seen that he is a fine looking cat. If you do ever manage to get a shot of him please do send in the image.
