Once Upon a Time There Was a Cat Named Lucyfur

My Wedding Present - Himself!
Newly graduated from college, my daughter and I moved to a great new apartment near my new job. It didn't take long until a fuzzy black cat started coming around the door of the apartment. Upon asking the neighbors, I found out that the previous owners just left him there when they moved. (!)
Feeling sorry for the poor cat, we started putting food out for him. Then it got cold so we started letting him inside so he wouldn't freeze.
My daughter carried him around - and he let her, even though he wasn't a "lap" kitty. And since he was such a nice kitty, we ended up naming him - Lucifer - after the cat in Cinderella (my daughter's idea but perfect for a black cat!)It didn't take long before he was a full-time house kitty because we wouldn't want him to catch a cold outside. He moved with us when I bought a house and he has been our feline protector since.
That was 12 years ago and I have no idea how old he actually is. He now has a permanent place on my bed next to my pillow where he sleeps every night. I love my kitty.
