Outdoor Bliss

My first cat, Bootsie, was a stray when she came to us. She had good sense when it came to the road and traffic and loved being outdoors. One night when she was outside, she became the victim of a horrible target shooter, and by some miracle, survived.

When she was recovering, we kept her indoors all the time, and by the time she could walk again, she would try to sneak outside. We finally had to let her out because she was becoming depressed, and she ran outside to lie in the grass. She really loved the outdoors. She eventually passed away at age 14 from cancer.

If I decide to get another cat, the cat would be in during the night and out other times of the day. That is where cats really belong.

Bootsie was a beauty.

Hi Rebecka,

Bootsie was a beauty and I can tell by her photograph that she loved the outdoors.

How can people shoot at cats, or any innocent animals. Humans are supposed to be superior beings, but by acting that way we often show that we are not at all. Thank goodness that she survived her ordeal.

Thank you very much indeed for your submission.
