Iggy

My husband and I were looking online for a playmate for Cassie. We were on the rescue website where we had found her originally and I saw this handsome face. I knew he and Cassie would be a perfect match!

Looks like Domino.
by: J. Paul Dean

Your cat Iggy Looks so much like Domino a black cat that we had for only three years. He did not have a bit of temper in him and was always very careful to be gentle. He would tap with his paw at your face and never once scratched.

How Cats Changed Me Forever.

by Amanda
(Northern California)

About 1 1/2 years ago, my good friend had too many kittens and needed to find them homes.

We were hanging out one day and I used her restroom, where 6 kittens were being raised. They were still in there, as they were 4 weeks old. I came out and made a comment that she had too many cats in the bathroom and I almost stepped on them.

She asked me which one I liked and I told her the tiny black runt.

(Not knowing what she was trying to do)...

She then said, "Why don't you take him then?"

"HECK NO", I said.

"I hate cats".

And besides I was not prepared for one.

She handed me some food and litter, and told me to take him.

I didn't really agree, but took him home anyway.
I never thought he would live because he was so young.

Well, "King Oreo" is now 1 year and 3 months and the love of my life. He loves me and I love that cat more than anything in the world.

People really can change.

Cats can change us
by: pepsy

Your King Oreo looks lovely and cats can certainly enhance our lives. A guy I know always said that dogs were better than cats. Then he became a "foster" for a cat while looking for a home for his relatives cat. When the new lady came to get the cat he had tears in his eyes at handing her the cat. Two days later the lady gave him the cat back as "Missie" wanted him as much as he wanted her. He has shared his life with another rescue cat so that Missie would have company...he now prefers cats.

Thank you for sharing your cat and his photo with us.

My kitten who would disappear...

by Saumya Khati
(India)

We got "Runjhun" from an aunt's place.(In India, all women friends of our moms' are called aunties :)) SO one fine day when mom & I were visiting one such aunt,I came across a litter of kittens her cat had delivered some time back.

I begged my mum if I could keep one & she agreed! Cats ( & kittens)have an uncanny knack of remembering roads & routes & can return to places they want to be. So we wrapped her loosely in some fabric & brought her home.

Runjhun grew up to be a wonderful pet.He would snuggle up with Grandpa in his quilt. He loved the blankets & would roll in them, often getting trapped in them, when they were folded & put away after a nap!

On the 1st such occasion, my brother & I were really worried & searched for her far & wide, before finally finding her at night when our beds were being laid out :)

We had endless playing sessions with runjhun, she was a lazybum who wouldn't want to move at all.

Then one day, she went away.. maybe she was surveying the neighbourhood & someone's dog got her, maybe someone kept her, who knows... We missed her terribly & still talk of her fondly. She was one of our best childhood memories.

Missing kitten
by: pepsy

Thank you for telling us about your missing kitten. I had a cat who would go away for several days and then come back tired and hungry. We tried to keep him inside but he was too fast for us.

We saw him one day about 7 miles from where we lived. The lady said that he was her cat but that he would go away for several days at a time. She took him with her when she moved. He was a great cat and loved being played with.

Interesting story.
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Saumya,

Thank you for your interesting story of your kitten. I enjoyed the part about Runjhun getting lost in the bedding.

I'm sorry that your kitten disappeared, sadly it does sometimes happen.
