[My dog-Won Won, My older cat- Mow Mow, My new cat- Lady

I went to the animal shelter looking for a loving MALE kitten, well there wasn't any loving male cat or kitten that loves me, so I ended up choosing a female cat that loves attention/ needy.. but turns out someone already adopted her.

Then I went to my 2nd choice- my current cat: her name is Lady- I brought her into the family and everyone including me love her since. She was kind of "slow" and clumsy as a 6mo old cat, and not as needy as my 1st choice so I didnt thought about getting ger first but now I am happy that I have her as my little baby.

Thank you Larry! Well fortunately they are both very nice to my dog Won-Won, just that Won-Won some times ignores the cats.. haha! On the other hand, the two cats have been hissing at eachother, especially Lady.. she really hates mow mow. Hopefully the situation will be better as time passes by; I would hate to have one of the cats remove to another home.

A pretty second choice
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Miss J,

What a pretty second choice Lady was! What does it matter that you did not choose her first because I'm sure that she has won your heart completely now.

I love Mow mow's wink. He looks very comfortable.

Does Won Won get bullied much by your two cats? :0)

Congratulations, you have three fine looking pets, thank you very much for sharing your story with us.

My Baby, Christel

by Amanda Hartman
((CT))

In 1992, Christel became a part of my life. I loved her, but since I had many other kittens, I feel as if I didn't give her enough attention.

When I first adopted her, she had ring worm so I had to give her oatmeal bathes every day. As the number of kittens I had grew, the less attention she received. Christel was a beautiful Persian long haired calico cat with golden blood lines.

She always knew when some one was sad, and always comforted them. she even used to pet her self! Around the end, Christel was sick for a year and a half. The vets suspected stomach cancer and inflammation, but she was too old to have a biopsy. I didn't want to believe it.

One day, I brought her to the groomers and they sheared her, but when I picked her up, something was wrong. She was shaking like crazy and wouldn't face me. Its sad that I felt like she could live forever with me, but that didn't happen. I didn't want to believe anything was wrong, so when the groomer and I stopped talking, I checked on her. She was terribly afraid of dogs, so I put a blanket on her cage. I'm a horrible person. I could have saved her, but I didn't speak up. And whats worse is she died alone in the darkness of a cat carrier.I screamed for an hour until I finally cooled down. Christel died at age 18, two months before her birthday.

Christel had a lot of love.
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Amanda,

When you have many kittens, you can't give your attention to just one, it's not possible. So I can't see any reason to feel bad about that. Besides, cats and kittens with other feline company have each other for attention, playing together and so on.

Christel sounds like a wonderful cat, I'm sorry to read that you lost her, it is always sad when we lose a loved pet. 18 years is quite a long age for a cat and it is obvious that Christel had a lot of love from you.

I don't understand why you say that you are a horrible person. If your veterinarian said that Christel was to old for a biopsy, and therefore treatment, I can't see that you should blame yourself for that.

Thank you very much for sharing about Christel with us.

My Little Boy Sammy

by lesley
(aberdeen, scotland)

When we moved to our house, we suddenly noticed a beautiful white cat with a black tail kept appearing on our doorstep. I thought it was a stray and gave it some tuna fish, wrong move! He kept returning and eventually we found out that he stayed further up our street, but would always return to us.

Unfortunately, he developed kidney problems and we had to get him put to sleep. I was so distraught and it was by total coincidence that I was up at our local supermarket which has a pet shop and I started talking to the sales assistant, who said she was fostering a cat who was also called Sammy.

We found out she stayed next door to my aunt and when we saw Sammy, we totally fell in love with him. He is a British Blue Cross Breed, who was mistreated. We took him home and he did behind the sofa for a week and I stayed with him. At night, he suddenly crept up beside me and he is now the master of our house! He has beds all over the place, but he loves to cuddle up to my partner and I. He has never bothered to scratch or bite us and he is the most wonderful companion.

It seems that fate intervened and we love him to bits!!

Hi Lesley,

Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful story about Sammy with us.

Sorry to read of the loss of your first Sammy, but it seems that you have found a truly wonderful companion in your new feline friend.

I like it that you say Sammy is the master of the house, aren't cats always :0)
