No superstition story; our cat just has a very unusual coat. His topcoat is black and his undercoat is white. He has white points around his ears, nose, and paws. We get a lot of comments on his beautiful coat. Many people (including us) assume he is quite old when they first see him.

I don't know how your cat has a coat this color, but he is one of the most unusual and prettiest cats I've ever seen.

Undercoat color.

I do not pretend to understand this theory but apparently two, or perhaps more, color genes can interact and one of the outcomes is a gray undercoat.

Oh my word, Simon's coat is beautiful and unusual too.

Yes, he must get a lot of attention, he looks like a very alert and fit cat.

I have seen a few dogs that have had a graying to their coat's that did indeed make them appear older than they actually were. But I have never seen a cat like Simon.
