Skylar The Rare Siamese Mix

by Jessie C.

I didn't plan on getting a kitten. In fact, I was going to originally get a one-year-old cat after Winter Break and go to ARF at Walnut Creek, but after looking at three kittens at the Napa Animal Shelter , I met Skylar.

We connected just like that and then begged my parents to get me that rare flame point and snow shoe domestic short hair Siamese Mix. He had two litter mates that were black and white and one black one, but I only wanted Skylar. He had a horrible name of Yoda, which was why on Friday when I next saw his blue eyes had changed his name to Skylar and took him to my place.

I am having him socialized him because I want him to be good around people, cats, and dogs when he's a grown-up cat, and he made me more responsible and a better person.

Looking at your photo he seems to be a social minded cat already! He's certainly happy in your arms there. I like the name.
My Snowbrung is blue eyed (ragdoll) and I've noticed he sees better in the dark than in daylight.
Because he is strictly home based and not allowed to wander, I often take him out on a cat-lead to have a wander around the garden in the night which he enjoys.
I made a cat playhouse in my back garden too out of a polytunnel frame and wire mesh so that all my cats can enjoy the sunshine and fresh air safely on nice days. They are all rescued cats, including Snowbrung.

A bundle of cuteness.

Hi Jessie,

It sounds like there was no choice for you to make. You had to have Skylar :0)

He does look a bundle of cuteness, I think you two are going to be the best of friends for a long time.

I'm sure that he will be very good with people and other animals, some cats are more social than others, but cats that prefer to keep themselves to themselves are just as lovely.

Congratulations Jessie, you have a great cat. Thank you very much indeed for sharing Skylar's story and photo with us.
