Strange disappearance...

by alisha
(uk)

my friend down the road (to my left) had a black cat called katie. although before i didn't know what the cat was called so i named her fluffy (since she has a long fluffy coat) and she kept on visiting my garden in the summer without any treats and every day we met and bonded without fail and i would lie down whilst she would lay her head on my lap and sprawl her body out and stroked her till she fell asleep.

But after winter she did not appear she was quite old so i thought she had passed away she normally comes to see me at this time like last year. She hasn't returned, but my friend had adopted two black long haired kittens and my neighbour adopted two short haired kitten, one called fluffy and the other called fliffy. Weird, R.I.P Katie.

Have you asked your friend . . .
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Alisha,

Are you sure that Fluffy/Katie has passed away? Have you asked your friend about her?

You say that she normally stays away in the winter, and winter isn't over yet. Many cats that go outside when it is warm will, sensibly, stay indoors when it is cold.

Anyway, thank you very much for sharing your black cat story with us.

Raven

Raven

So, my black cat Raven is very silly and awkward but she is there for me when i need it.

She is the daughter of my other cat Rose, i found her in a nearby town. Raven is of her first litter and she also has a son Patches of the second litter. Ravens little brother, you see shes more of a mother to Patches than Rose is.

Now Rose is pregnant again and is expecting soon. I love them very much :) Thank You HaHa :P

Raven a loving cat.
by: Jobaputra

Yes it can be hard to take care of many cats, but your Raven is indeed nice.

Black cats are simply wonderful, they are often very loving as your Raven is. I don't know why it is that some people do not like them or are afraid of them.

Raven, Rose and Patches.
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Miranda,

What a great name for a black cat. I'm sure that she is not so silly and does not mean to be awkward, all cats have their funny ways :0) If she is there for you when you need her, that is the main thing.

Let's see, you have Raven, Rose and Patches and Rose is expecting another litter. You love all your cats of course, but maybe its time to ensure that you don't end up with too many cats?

Thank you very much indeed for Miranda for telling us about Raven, Rose and Patches.

Black cat crossing

by Heather Phillips
(Kahului, HI)

Recently I have had a hard misfortune with my fiance. He is bipolar and he needs to get help.

Tonight he called me and told me that he was going to get the help he needed and that I could go with him to make sure he follows through. I have been trying to get him to get help for quite a while now. I love him regardless I'm just scared for his well being...

Tonight while I was on the phone talking to my best friend about it a black cat ran in front of me, then turned around and ran behind me and sat down. Then continued to follow me as I walked up and down the street. It came up to me when I sat down and started purring and jumping at me and rubbing on me. I then got up and it followed as I walked in the house then it sat outside the door and stared at me.

My best friend called back so I went outside again, the cat followed me up and down the street some more then again jumped, purred, and rolled all over me.. It even wouldn't leave when my dog growled and tried to chase it. I'm wondering what this means? I'm a Scorpio and black cats are supposed to mean good luck to me. Does this mean that good things are coming to me?

Good luck for you.
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Heather,

Good news that your boyfriend is determined to get help. Help can only be a good thing.

You will find that cats, whether black, white, tabby or any cats, often want your attention when you are on the phone. The theory is that they think you are talking to them :0) And it seems that you have made yourself a friend with that black cat, congratulations.

What does it mean?

What I think is that it means good luck for you, (if you believe it,) but you've got to help good luck along. Do all you can to help your boyfriend get help.

That's what I think. What do others think?

Black Cats are Good Luck
by: Katherine of PA, USA

If that were true, I'd have to walk backwards through my entire house x2. The only time I've had bad luck from a black cat is when something bad happens to one of them.

Bad luck? Never. I have 11 cats, 2 of which are black, one girl and one boy. They are just like all the other cats. The only
bad luck that ever came from owning a black cat is that we had a 3rd black kitty, a boy, who went missing on Halloween in
2005-someone either hurt or stole him. It is the people around black cats that are superstitious that are bad luck, not the cats. That's as ridiculous as
saying black humans or black dogs are bad luck. It's just a color.

And when I was little we owned 2 black cats who were brothers, part purebred Himalayan-very loyal, lovable, and pretty kitties.

It may be bad luck to some but around here it's regarded as lucky to have a black cat cross your path!
