Survivor

by Shirley Johnson
(Milwaukie, Oregon, USA)

We moved into our Duplex in 2006 an inherited a stray black cat with white paws. She was, and still is, very antsy. I have been feeding her everyday for the past 4+ years.

When she is in the house, she is very loving. But only to me. She will shy away from everyone else.

When I come home in the car and pull into the driveway, she excitedly runs to the car. But it ends there. She will not let me pick her up. In fact, I only get to pet her when she is outdoors.
I have never known her name, so I just call her "Kitty".

But she is a survivor. She has survived, living outdoors with us for over 4 years, while all the other cats that were around here, have disappeared.

Kitty is comfortable with you.
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Shirley,

Kitty the survivor sounds like a little darling.

The fact that she is loving to you when in the house shows that she is comfortable with you. Never mind that she is a little cooler when outside, that's just her way.

Well done to you for giving her a home and taking care of her.

Thank you very much for sharing Kitty's story with us.
