The kind of cat I would have chosen.

I cannot write much about choosing Nana, it was not a question of choosing this cat or that cat. An acquaintance of mine ask me if I wanted a cat.
I said yes, just like that. No thinking about it, and I did not discuss it with my husband or my children. Strange because the thought of taking on any kind of pet had not entered my thoughts.
Nana had belonged to an elderly lady who was moving in to a care home, she could not take her pet cat with her.
When I explained to my family about the new addition to the house I exaggerated and told them that the cat was going to be put to sleep in three days if nobody wanted her.
The children were tickled pink, Nana won their hearts straight away. My husband was not as angry as I thought he was going to be. He was a little annoyed that I had agreed to take the cat without asking, but he too was fascinated with her.
Nana herself took to her new family right from the start. I imagine that as soon as she realized that this is where she is getting her food the she has no worries. She had no hesitation in using her new litter box and I'm glad to say there has been no accidents. If I had a choice Nana is just the kind of cat I would have chosen.
