The Mysterious Black Cat

by Jaci Johnson
(New Castle, Indiana USA)

When I arrived home and opened the front door, I could see directly into my bedroom. At that moment a medium size black cat ran from under my bed and under the computer desk.

I thought oh no, someones cat has gotten into my apartment when I opened the door to leave. So I went to find it and put it outside.

To my amazement, it was no where in sight. It had disappeared.

A few days later my son came over and was standing in the living room facing the hallway between the kitchen and living room, when he asked, "mom, when did you get a black cat?" I told him, "I don't have one." He said, "well, I just saw it come out of your bedroom and go into the kitchen."

Ok, where is the black cat? It was never seen again.

I have no picture to send..

I have seen a black cat too
by: Anonymous

It was late into the night and I woke up, sat up in bed, and looked at the bedroom door (which was open). I saw a black cat crawl in through the door and I thought it was my cat Emily. I called Emily's name and the cat continued to crawl toward the foot of my bed. The next think I saw was a tiny rabbit hopping into the bedroom, being chased by my cat Emily. I turned on the lamp beside the bed and got out of bed to turn on the bedroom light. I found the bunny and I found Emily. The other cat disappeared. I searched everywhere for it, I found nothing. I garnered I was awake and I did see it with both of my eyes. When I called out Emily to it, it didn't even look up at me, it kept moving.

Hi Jaci,

Thank you very much indeed for sharing your story of the mysterious black cat.

That certainly is strange. I have no beliefs one way or the other about paranormal (if that's the right word) happenings, but your story sure is an interesting one.

Mystery cat

Hi! I often find open the front door at 10 or 11pm at night to find a strange black cat sitting on the front step... It happened today...my birthday and also last year...after a close family member passed away the strange black cat was sitting on my door step at 10 or 11pm each night for almost a week!

When I step out the door it runs away into the night....what does this mean? I am baffled?!Cute cat too...no idea to where or to whom it belongs....

Black cat sitting on your doorstep.
by: Larry (Editor)

Hello,

First of all, happy birthday to you.

I would say that there is no significance in a black cat sitting on your doorstep.

The cat happened to be there after a family member passed away and on your birthday.

It could be that the cat will come and visit you again, and maybe not run off straight away this time.

Thank you very much for sharing your story with us.

When i first saw my cat he came up through the vents. We started to think it was a girl until it bit ninja. He bit every one except me that's when i new not all black cats are bad luck.

But first sight my dad caught of him he flipped. We called him Midnight. His fur feels like silk. But when he came up through the vents dogs freaked out.He is a very brave cat because the dogs are scared of him.

Spooky.
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Tera,

Wow, a cat coming up through the vent, that must have been spooky, no wonder that your dogs freaked out!

Why did you think that Midnight was a girl until he bit? Girls don't bite? I think even girl cats bite :0)

Seriously though, I hope that everyone that was bitten got those bites attended to, because a cat bite can turn nasty.

Midnight is a great name for a cat, I bet that he gives you great joy. Thank you very much for sharing the story with us.

my black kitties

by cynthia
(perth, ontario, canada)

my baby

my baby

i have had 3 black cats now. all very protective to myself and my children. they were all lovable too and the best friend anyone could have. i have 1 now. he is 2 yrs old. i just recently lost my favourite kittie. he died in my arms here at home.

black cats are the same as any other cat just a different colour. i had a beautiful white cat, tabby cats. but i am founder of the black or a pure white one. i would take black cat over any other cat. there is just something about the black cat i love. they have no fear and very lovable. azzie is no exception. he is very vocal with me. he talks all the time. he is so fun loving. he lets me dress him up at christmas as santa kittie. as u see in this picture he loves the santa hat. all my kitties were great mousers.

i have nothing bad to say about a black cat. my favourite that died was doubled pawed. the reason i wanted him. but this kittie picked me and that's how he became my kittie. azzie came home with us from friends. but he is my kittie too. i'd be lost without him. he helped me threw my other kittie dying. as i said very lovable..

Black cats are just the same
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Cynthia,

I'm sorry to read of the loss of your favorite kitty, and yes, it can be a comfort to have other pets around when this happens.

You are right, black cats are just the same as other cats, not sinister at all.

Azzie is a very good looking chap, he must be a pleasure to have around.

Thank you very much for your story and sharing Azzie's photograph.

Two passing black cats
by: Larry (Editor)

Hi Wolfbane,

Very sorry to read that you broke up with the love of your life.

But can you really blame two passing black cats for that?

Are black cats really unlucky, or is it just that you think they are?

Life Happens

Life happens. A lot of bad things happen in life, why blame it on cats.

Your g/f dumping you could have been for a lot of reasons whatever the reason it wasn't anything to do with the cats.

Black cats get the blame for to much.
