Two black cats outside my door?

One night i was going out to my car to get my bag of clothes as i was home for new years..as i put on my shoes on i heard meowing at first i thought it was just the wind but then i opened the door and there was two jet black tom cats sitting outside meowing at each other.

i walked out a few steps and they stopped but they just stood there watching me and i'm very superstitious so i just want to figure out what it meant.

when i went back inside they started meowing again it was weird so i opened the door quietly and took a step forward and then they just ran away....can anyone help me find out what it meant or does it mean anything?????

Posturing Toms

Hi Lia,

Thank you very much for sharing your story.

Those two black Toms were having a dispute over a female ;)

Rather than fight straight away, cats will have a session of posturing, and one cat will usually back down.

Of course, when you came out of your door they stopped.

Now if those two Toms had not been black, would you have been superstitious?

I hope that you had a good new years, if you were in Dublin I expect that you did :0)
